Guernsey Scouts

There's a Scout Group near you in Guernsey (and Alderney too!) - so you're spoilt for choice. Boys and girls can join the adventure from the age of 6 upwards - and there's no age limits after that !!!  You'll also find that with a choice of groups locally, you can usually find a group with convenient meeting times.

To find out more - please contact our Bailiwick Scout Office, who will more than gladly offer you advice, as well as putting you in touch with the group leaders.

There are several age group levels within scouting........

BEAVERS - the youngest age entry level is six years old, with members staying within this section until the age of eight. Activities take place in what's known as a Colony.

CUBS - aimed at eight to ten and a half year olds, Cubs is a natural step onwards from Beavers.

SCOUTS - from the age of ten and a half until fourteen, members are part of the Scout troop.

EXPLORERS - a relatively recently formed section of the movement, designed to take young people aged from fourteen to eighteen through with responsibilities towards adult scouting, as well as offering an even more varied programme of adventure.

NETWORK - from eighteen to twenty five, Network members take an active involvement in the organisation and running of the movement, as well as being given wider opportunities to take part in diverse and challenging pursuits.

ADULTS IN SCOUTING - from Warranted Leaders, thru to helpers, group executive committee members (treasurers, secretaries etc), Scout Fellowship, specialist activity advisors and instructors,  and a whole host of other roles - there are so many opportunities to get involved. You can give as much or as little of your time as you wish - whichever way we'd love to hear from you !!
