Campsite and Hostel

Les Maingys is the Headquarters of the Bailiwick of Guernsey Scout Association. Girlguiding Guernsey facilities are also on site.

17 acres of beautiful Guernsey countryside and situated conveniently close to local amenities (shops, beaches and a main bus route). Les Maingys Activity Centre is a perfect complement to the Scout campsite - providing an ideal venue for organised indoor pursuits. This includes a large activity centre with an indoor climbing wall, large sports hall, where many other activities such as archery, football, volleyball and other sports can take place. Two large meeting rooms and industrial kitchen to cater for small, large and corporate events. Wheelchair accessibility to all areas. This facility can be hired out in part, in it’s entirety, and also in conjunction with the other onsite areas. The Centre has a track record for being a versatile venue for a wide range of events - from scouting and guiding activities, through to private parties, corporate dinners, training courses, exhibitions, fundraising days and meetings, to name just a few.

With ample car parking, and large surrounding grounds, Les Maingys can provide a perfect venue for most occasions. Our clients include government departments, large corporations, and staff sports and social clubs, as well a number of visiting schools, scouting and guiding groups.

From Conferences to Concerts, Training Courses to Teambuilding Sessions, and Social Gatherings to Sports Events, as well as many other activities - come and talk to us about your requirements.

We own an old Guernsey Farmhouse, known as the Hostel, which sleeps 32 and is hired out to all. The site also has a large campfire circle, where we hold campfires and a safe area for lighting of fires for cooking outdoors.

On-site facilities include a full time Manager, 2 part time Administrators, Scout Shop, Shower & Toilet facilities, Meeting Rooms, Sports Hall, Climbing Wall, Catering facilities, Public Payphones, Camping Equipment Hire, and extensive, well maintained Camp Fields.

We also have an adjoining Class 'C' water reservoir, where organised water-based activities, including dinghy sailing and canoeing can be booked.
